Lebler hat-trick paves the way for Linz's success against the champions

In the 14th round of the win2day ICE Hockey League, the Black Wings Linz remain on a convincing path. Against champions Graz99ers, they secure a 5:2 away victory - thanks in part to Brian Lebler.

The Linz team get off to a perfect start and take an early lead. Brian Lebler scores for 0:1 (5.) and extends the lead to 0:2 just a few minutes later (9.).

The Graz team then find their way into the game better and reduce the deficit to 1:2 through Huber (13.). However, Linz remain dangerous and strike again in the second period. Brian Lebler completes his hat-trick for 1:3 (26.). Shortly after, Bliss converts a penalty to make it 1:4 (28./PS).

The 99ers don't give up and score through Hanus for 2:4 (29.). In the final period, the hosts fight to catch up, but the Linz team defend compactly and also survive several penalty kill situations.

When Graz pull their goalie in the closing stages, Henrik Neubauer seizes the opportunity and scores into the empty net for 2:5 (57./EN).

The Black Wings thus confidently see out the game and take three points from Graz.
