Rossi Assist in NHL Comeback – Canucks Crisis Continues
Marco Rossi is back after an illness-related break. His team had nothing to show for it.
Marco Rossi returns after his illness-related break with a point!
However, the 25-year-old Vorarlberg native, playing for the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL, had to concede a 2:5 defeat to the Detroit Red Wings. For the Canadians, it's already the ninth consecutive loss.
After missing two games, Rossi returns to the lineup and earns an assist in the final period. In the 51st minute, the ÖEHV legionnaire, together with Zeev Buium, set up Jonathan Lekkerimäki's goal for the 2:5 final score.
Crisis continues
By this point, however, the game had long been decided in favor of the visitors. Detroit got off to a strong start and was already leading 3:1 after the first period. Lucas Raymond scored twice, and William Wallinder netted the Red Wings' third goal. Elias Pettersson scored for Vancouver.
In the middle period, Michael Rasmussen extended the lead to 4:1, before Emmitt Finnie sealed the final decision in the last period.
While Detroit extended their point streak to six games, the Canucks' losing streak continues. Vancouver has been waiting for a win since October 3.
