LASK completed their routine task with great confidence. However, a knee injury to Harakate causes concern. Must LASK strike in the transfer market?

It's a success where joy is muted.

With a comfortable 7-0 victory in the first round of the Uniqa-ÖFB-Cup, the Linz side got a perfect start to the season (to the match report >>>).

Nevertheless, the joy is likely overshadowed by what appears to be a heavy personnel blow.

LASK is concerned about one of their most important summer signings.

Harakate's Injury Causes LASK Major Worries

Just 28 minutes into the season, the previous season's double winner has to digest a harsh setback.

In a non-contact incident, Ramiz Harakate suddenly slips in front of the opponent's penalty area and immediately clutches his knee. After medical treatment, the Frenchman attempts to continue the match, but just a few minutes later, the LASK newcomer has to be substituted.

It hardly gets any more bitter. Only a few weeks ago, the Linz club signed the attacking player for around 1.5 million Euros from GAK.

After just one half, he is forced to watch his teammates from the sidelines on crutches.

Is the Squad Depth Now Sufficient for the Season?

The situation is particularly frustrating for LASK now, of course, for several reasons. After their double feat, the Linz side not only face intense weeks, but also a tough season with a triple workload and several midweek fixtures.

It was Harakate, of all people, who was meant to fill the void after Saša Kalajdžić's loan spell ended. Whether the Frenchman will now be able to do so, of course, depends on the severity of the knee injury.

At least LASK still has six weeks to sign another attacking player during the transfer window.
