Rout! LASK Wins Emphatically in Kalsdorf
The Linz side only lived up to their clear favorites' role after the break. Christoph Lang became the match-winner with four second-half goals.
Dominant victory for LASK!
Following their double-winning feat last season, the Linz side secured a commanding 7-0 win against SC Kalsdorf in the first round of the Uniqa ÖFB Cup.
However, a knee injury has caused concern for LASK.
Narrow Halftime Lead for LASK
Initially, the Styrian third-division side performed equally, creating counter-attacking chances.
Additionally, LASK newcomer Ramiz Harakate suffered an unlucky knee injury and had to be substituted. Christoph Lang came on for him and later proved to be very effective on the field.
Shortly before the break, Andres Andrade headed in a corner kick to give LASK a 1-0 halftime lead.
Lang's Hat-trick Secures Emphatic Victory
After the change of ends, Kühbauer's team dominated the match at will.
Lang increased the lead to 2-0 with a header from a cross from the right side (53'), before scoring an additional goal just eight minutes later with a well-placed shot into the left corner for 3-0.
LASK continued their scoring spree. Samuel Adeniran netted the fourth goal from about six meters out (69'). Furthermore, Lang completed his hat-trick with a penalty kick for LASK's 5-0 lead (79').
A spectacular goal by Krystof Danek (90+1') and a fourth goal from Lang (90+2') ultimately sealed the 7-0 rout.
