After "Miracle": Emotional Gregoritsch hugs ZDF Reporter
The assist provider for the sensational equalizer is close to tears in an interview with the German TV channel and lets his joy run free.
It was a match that will likely be talked about for years to come: Austria's 3-3 draw against Algeria was not for the faint of heart (to the match report>>>).
In the interviews shortly after the final whistle, the crazy match was clearly visible on the players' faces. This was also true for Michael Gregoritsch, who set up Sasa Kalajdzic's last-minute equalizer perfectly.
"We were out for a few minutes"
In conversation with ZDF reporter Amelie Stiefvatter, "Gregerl" is close to tears. "Thank God there are still miracles," he declared, audibly and visibly emotional.
Stiefvatter replied: "I don't think you've fully realized it yet, have you? I'm not getting that sense of relief from you." Gregoritsch paused briefly, searching for words. "We were just out for a few minutes. And we're still in it," the 32-year-old replied.
Now they have the game against European champions Spain, which they wanted, he added, and hugged Stiefvatter in relief after the interview.
The match against the co-favorite for the title will take place next Thursday at 9 PM.
