Voitsberg signs Greek U21 international
The 22-year-old defender moves from German Regionalliga club 1. FC Schweinfurt to promoted side ASK Voitsberg.
ASK Voitsberg has strengthened its squad with Nikolaos Vakouftsis.
The club, promoted to the ADMIRAL 2. Liga, announced this on Facebook. The 22-year-old centre-back moves from German third-division relegated club 1. FC Schweinfurt to Styria.
"Niko is a player with a great mentality who made a name for himself last season at Schweinfurt in a difficult league situation. With his height and active, energetic playing style, he perfectly fits the profile we were looking for," says Sports Director Sebastian Szvetits about the new signing.
U21 National Team Debut Last May
Vakouftsis moved from the youth academy of Aris Thessaloniki to that of 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the summer of 2022. After two and a half years at Betzenberg, he joined Greuther Fürth II before Schweinfurt signed him for the second half of the past season.
In May, the defender made his debut for Greece's U21 national team.
