Zambian International Striker Set for LigaZwa Return?
The 24-year-old won the second-division title with Austria Lustenau, but has been without a club since. Is he returning to Austria?
In January 2025, Jack Lahne (24) moved to Austria Lustenau in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.
There, the striker matured and made his international debut for Zambia in November 2025 (four caps since then). He last featured in the Africa Cup in late December.
At the end of last season, he celebrated the championship title with Lustenau; for the Vorarlbergers, he scored twelve goals in 43 appearances.
On May 14, 2026, Lahne scored the opening goal (1-0) for Lustenau in the decisive 2-1 victory against Amstetten. This secured the Vorarlbergers the championship title and promotion to the Bundesliga – ahead of SKN St. Pölten, who remained in second place despite a 1-0 win against Hertha Wels.
Return to LigaZwa?
Lahne has been without a contract since late June. However, the clubless player is now being linked with a return to Austria. According to transfer insider Rudy Galetti, SKN St. Pölten is considering signing the 24-year-old.
Furthermore, Canadian club Cavalry FC and Finnish clubs are reportedly interested.
Lahne brings a genuinely exciting profile, having already registered 38 first-division appearances in Sweden for IF Brommapojkarna, AIK, and Örebro SK in his younger years.
He also featured once in Ligue 1 for Amiens, where he scored on his debut in November 2019 (a 2-4 defeat against Montpellier).
