Two Goals in the First Five Minutes

The visitors got off to a dream start: Fabian Schubert was sent through with a long ball down the left flank, entered the penalty area, and laid it off to Philipp Scheucher, who exquisitely beat Clemens Steinbauer with a backheel (2').

However, Admira's response was not long in coming: After a great play involving several passes, Justin Forst set up Alexander Schmidt, who lifted the ball over Filip Dmitrovic to equalize (5').

The Styrians pressed high and created good chances through this and quick transitions. Elias Neubauer (9') and Daniel Saurer (14') both shot just wide. However, Admira scored the next goal.

Scheucher Equalizes Admira's Lead

Felix Holzhacker drove into the penalty area with pace and played it to Forst, who scored to give them the lead (19'). But the home side's lead also wouldn't last long.

Paolo Jager flicked on a Dmitrovic goal kick to Scheucher, who chipped it over Steinbauer to make it 2-2 (23').

After the game somewhat slowed down, the match picked up pace again towards the end of the first half. Admira, in particular, became dangerous, but the Voitsberg defense managed to defuse crosses from Nyarko (42') and Turgay Gemicibasi (44') in the nick of time.

Both Teams Continue with Attacking Intent

The tempo remained high after the break, and the hosts had the first huge chance: Forst headed against the crossbar, but Schmidt failed to convert the rebound (52').

At the other end, Voitsberg seemingly took the lead again: Substitute Daniel Goriupp slotted it in, but was offside when the pass was made (55').

Both teams continued to push forward lively, but Admira had the better chances: Neubauer shot over the goal (61'), and Schmidt hit the side netting with a turn (63').

Late Gemicibasi Penalty Secures Admira Victory

A few minutes later, Nyarko powerfully beat Neubauer on the left and cut inside, but his shot went well over the goal (68').

The individual battle between Nyarko and Neubauer proved decisive shortly before the end: The Voitsberg player brought down the Admira attacker on the edge of the penalty area, and referee Stefan Macanovic unhesitatingly pointed to the spot. Gemicibasi confidently converted the resulting penalty (84').

With this win, Admira climbed to ninth place, maintaining their connection to the mid-table in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga. The promoted team, however, remains in twelfth place.
