Blau-Weiß Linz wins the summit clash of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga!

The Steel City side triumphed 6-0 in the IMMOunited-Match of Round 11 against First Vienna FC, celebrating a rout in the direct duel for the top spot.

The Linzers primarily benefited from an early red card against the hosts. Romeo Vucic bagged a hat-trick.

Luxbacher channels Suarez

Little happened in the opening stages. Blau-Weiß Linz was the dominant team and created the first good chance through Collmann. After a cross from Vucic, the striker headed just over the goal (4').

In the 22nd minute came the first major incident: Tsarenko received the ball in space and shot from the edge of the penalty area. The shot was decisively deflected, and Vienna goalkeeper Unger was already beaten.

However, Luxbacher was on the line, blocking the ball with his hand – just like Luis Suarez did at the 2010 World Cup against Ghana. The veteran was shown the red card for clearly preventing a goal (22'). Romeo Vucic calmly converted the resulting penalty to give the visitors the lead (24').

Despite being a man down, Vienna had a great chance to equalize shortly after. Following a headed pass from Gantschnig, Soukouna stood ready to shoot in the middle, but only touched the ball with the tip of his boot as he fell (30').

Just before halftime, the Döblingers received a cold shower. Tsarenko played a through ball to Frieser, who found the better-positioned Collmann in the middle. From five meters, the German completed the beautifully worked attack to make it 2-0 (45').

Vucic seals the deal

Vienna came out of the locker room with momentum and, despite being a man down, pushed forward. Soukouna took an immediate shot from the edge of the penalty area in the 48th minute, forcing BW keeper Giuliani to make his first save.

The hosts also threatened several times from set pieces, but couldn't find a goal to get back into the game.

Instead, the Steel City side were awarded another penalty in the 58th minute. Collmann tried to square the ball in the box, but Breit slid in between, blocking the ball with his supporting hand.

Vucic stepped up again and gave Unger no chance. Although the Vienna goalkeeper dived the right way, the Linzer's shot was too well placed. The ball found the net via the inside of the post – 3-0 for Blau-Weiß Linz (59').

Vienna falls apart

In the final phase, the 23-year-old crowned his already successful evening with his third goal. After an exemplary assist from Frieser, Vucic slotted in to make it 4-0 (81').

Vienna subsequently completely fell apart. After a terrible goalkeeping error by Unger during build-up play, substitute Weinhauer scored the fifth goal (85').

Fellow substitute Ristanic put the finishing touch with a dream curling shot into the far corner (88'). That completed the half-dozen.

Steel City side pulls away

Blau-Weiß Linz thus celebrates an impressive away victory in the direct encounter and now stands at 28 points after eleven matchdays.

Vienna suffers a significant setback after seven consecutive wins, but remains the closest pursuer with 25 points.
