FC Liefering wins 2:1 against Rapid II on the eleventh matchday of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga, thereby intensifying the crisis for the Hütteldorfers.

The hosts got off to a better start. Daris Djezic narrowly missed his first long-range shot (10th minute), and a little later hit the side netting from a tight angle (16th).

In the 18th minute, Rapid II was finally rewarded for their strong start. After a corner kick, the ball came back to Djezic, who delivered a precise cross to the far post. There, Ousmane Thiero rose high and headed in from close range to give them the lead.

However, the "Jungbullen" didn't take long to respond. Just three minutes later, Jakob Werner converted a cross from Riquelme to make it 1:1 (21st).

Leles Turns the Game Around from the Spot

After the equalizer, Liefering increasingly took control. Yuri Leles' shot was still blocked (26th), and a little later, his free-kick was stopped by the wall (28th).

Rapid II also remained dangerous. However, Nicolas Jozepovic could not get a cross from David Polke past Liefering goalkeeper Nikola Sarcevic (32nd).

Just before halftime, things turned particularly sour for the hosts. Lorenz Szladits lost the ball in his own penalty area and then fouled Raphael Kosakiewic. Leles confidently converted the resulting penalty to make it 2:1 for the visitors (40th).

Yellow-Red Cards on Both Sides

After the break, Liefering was closer to the next goal. Julian Hussauf narrowly missed the target with a header after a corner kick (55th). While Rapid II strived for the equalizer, they hardly created any clear offensive opportunities.

In the 69th minute, the Hütteldorfers further weakened themselves. Szladits was clearly late in his challenge against Hussauf and received a yellow-red card after having been booked in the first half.

However, Liefering also had to play the final phase with ten men. Yerwin Sulbaran, who had only been substituted in eleven minutes earlier, was also sent off with a yellow-red card for a dive (80th).

Moizi Misses Equalizer

In the closing stages, Rapid II still had a great chance to equalize. Substitute Philipp Moizi got a shot away from close range, but Ifeanyichukwu Onwuzulike threw himself decisively into the path of the shot (86th).

Thus, Liefering held onto their narrow lead and celebrated their third away win of the season.

The Salzburg team now has 17 points and moves up to seventh place in the table. Rapid II, however, remains at the bottom with seven points and has been waiting for a win for eight league games.
