Admira's Run Ends in the Ländle
After three consecutive wins, the Südstädter suffer a narrow defeat against Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz.
Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz celebrates a 1-0 home victory against Admira Wacker on Saturday in the 11th round of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.
Matheus Cecchini scores the decisive goal in the 55th minute.
Scramble Leads to Schwarz-Weiß Celebration
The first half is not particularly eventful. There's a minor moment of excitement in the 17th minute, when Admira striker Forst rounds Bregenz keeper Paulo, but is dispossessed by a tackle before he can shoot. However, the referee deemed it a fair challenge.
At the beginning of the second half, it's Forst again who appears in a promising position in front of the opponent's goal, but fails to beat Bregenz goalkeeper Paulo.
Shortly thereafter, however, there's celebration on the other side: After a scramble in the Admira penalty area, the ball falls to Cecchini's feet, and his shot hits under the crossbar to make it 1-0 for Schwarz-Weiß (55th).
Bregenz Now Just Three Points Behind Admira
The score then remains unchanged. Admira tries hard, but the equalizer doesn't come.
After three consecutive wins, Admira must now suffer another defeat. With 18 points, they are still in the top 5 of the table. Bregenz now has 15 points to their name.
