First half full of chances

From the start, an entertaining match unfolded with chances on both sides. Already in the third minute, Barne Perrot had a header after a corner, but sent it slightly too high. Two minutes later, Adem Mustafic tested Sturm II keeper Elias Lorenz on the opposite side, who effortlessly saved the attempt (5').

Subsequently, the match really picked up pace. Jonas Peinhart squandered a huge chance for Graz to take the lead in the ninth minute. After a cross from Kelechi Nnamdi, the attacker got a shot from barely six meters, but leaned back and shot over the goal.

Just one minute later, Lorenz had to intervene twice. First, he saved a long-range shot from Paolo Jager, then he was also in position for Fabian Schubert's follow-up shot.

Voitsberg then increasingly took control and became especially dangerous after set pieces. Kai Stratznig had the biggest opportunity to take the lead in the 19th minute. After winning the ball high up the pitch in the press, he ran alone towards Lorenz, but put the ball over the goal.

Sturm II also remained dangerous. Wisler Lazarre narrowly missed the bottom left corner (21'), a little later a shot from Niklas Lang was blocked at the last second (24').

In the 30th minute, Lorenz first prevented a goal against Jager. For Schubert's follow-up shot, the Graz goalkeeper was already beaten, but Elijah Roche cleared the ball off the line. Despite numerous good chances on both sides, it was goalless at halftime.

Lazarre takes the lead

After the break, Voitsberg came out of the dressing room better. Daniel Goriupp looked for captain Schubert with a low cross across the goalmouth, but Roche cleared it in the nick of time (51').

On the other side, Peinhart missed the lead for the Young Blackies by just a few centimeters in the 60th minute. Otherwise, the second half saw few clear-cut chances for a long time.

In the 75th minute, substitute Christopher Wölbl had a great chance to give Voitsberg the lead, but rushed his shot wide of the goal. Sturm II struck clinically on the direct counter-attack.

Niklas Lang had a free shot in front of Filip Dmitrovic, but initially failed to beat the Voitsberg keeper. Lazarre converted the rebound from close range to make it 1-0 (75').

Dream goal seals the deal

Voitsberg then threw everything forward, but it was the Young Blackies who were closer to a second goal. Lang initially missed the chance to seal it, shooting at Dmitrovic from very close range (81').

A little later, Thomas Gurmann did much better. With a magnificent curling shot into the top corner, the 20-year-old beat the helpless Dmitrovic (85').

Voitsberg found no further response in the final phase. Thus, Sturm II achieved their first win after five winless games.

In the table, Voitsberg remains in twelfth place with twelve points. Sturm II does not improve its position in the table, but with eleven points, as 13th, they reduce the gap to their Styrian rivals to one point.
