Wacker Innsbruck also loses to Young Violets
Tyrol proves worthwhile for the Young Violets. Marco Hausjell is the match-winner with a brace.
FC Wacker Innsbruck suffered a 1:2 home defeat against Young Violets on Saturday in the 11th round of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.
Marco Hausjell scored both goals for the Viennese side, while Adrian Lechl netted for Innsbruck to make it 1:1 temporarily.
Penalty puts Violets ahead
The Young Violets were the more active team in the first half. For example, Kirchmayr had to intervene from a free-kick.
In the 20th minute, it was also a set-piece that led to the Violets' lead. Polonkai's shot was handled by Kopp. Hausjell coolly converted the resulting penalty to make it 1:0 (20.).
It actually took until the 35th minute for Wacker to become truly dangerous for the first time, but this chance immediately led to the 1:1 equalizer. Lechl converted Köchl's cross to level the score.
Rapid Restart for the Young Violets
The teams went into halftime with the score at 1:1. However, the second half began with an immediate success for the Young Violets: After winning possession in the opponent's half, they quickly switched play, and Hausjell ultimately put the ball into the far corner for 2:1 (46.).
Especially in the 73rd minute, Wacker came very close to another equalizer: After a header against the crossbar, substitute Wibowo was unable to put the rebound into the net.
Wacker remained well in the game, trying many things, but the equalizer simply wouldn't come. Not even in injury time, when keeper Kirchmayr came forward, but his header was cleared off the line.
While Young Violets remain in a strong third place with 22 points, the Innsbruck team has 14 points and ranks in the middle of the table.
