Success for Austria's ski jumpers from Wisla!
23-year-old Marco Wörgötter secures second place at the first stop of the Summer Grand Prix.
Victory goes to Naoki Nakamura from Japan. He wins after jumps of 129 and 135 meters with a lead of 5.7 points over the Austrian.
Third place goes to the Olympic bronze medalist on the normal hill, Gregor Deschwanden from Switzerland.
Kraft, Hörl and Co., however, are absent in Poland, as are, among others, Olympic champion Philipp Raimund and Domen Prevc (more on this >>>).
Disqualification Causes Stir Even in Summer
Already in winter, numerous disqualifications led to unrest in the ski jumping community, and a jumper was also excluded in Wisla.
Norway's Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal was subsequently removed from the results list after the safety strap of his binding was not properly attached to the boot in the first round due to a blocked clasp. He had previously been in sixth place.
Slovenian Victory in Women's Competition
In the women's competition, Slovenia's Ema Klinec triumphs ahead of Silje Opseth (NOR). Her lead is considerable. It amounts to 16.3 points. Third place goes to France's Josephine Pagnier.
Major names are also missing in the women's field, including Olympic champion and World Champion Nika Prevc, as well as Nozomi Maruyama.
