Demonstration of Power - Vienna Demolishes Sturm II

First Vienna FC 1894 celebrates a sensational 4-0 thrashing against SK Sturm Graz's second team on matchday 1 of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.

After a dominant performance featuring goals from Bernhard Zimmermann midway through the first half and Maximilian Fillafer before the half-time whistle, strong-performing substitutes sealed the deserved home victory.

In front of their home crowd at the Hohe Warte Stadium, the home team took command from the very first second. With an overwhelming 65 percent possession, the Viennese at times pinned the guests from Styria deep in their own half.

The constant offensive pressure finally paid off: Zimmermann broke the deadlock and put the hosts deservedly ahead. Sturm Graz II failed to get any grip on the game whatsoever and mostly just chased after the ball.

Before the half-time whistle, Vienna struck clinically a second time, as Fillafer seized the opportunity and increased the lead to 2-0 – a telling blow from which Wurm's team subsequently did not recover.

Anyone hoping for a resurgence from Graz after the half-time break was sorely disappointed. The visitors managed just a single shot on target throughout the entire match against Vienna keeper Bernhard Unger.

The absolute key moment of the second half occurred around the second hydration break. Vienna coach Patrick Enengl showed an inspired touch, bringing on no fewer than three new attacking players in Youssouf Soukouna, Christoph Monschein, and Marlon Louis Winter.

The result was pure dominance: just three minutes after coming on, substitute Winter converted a fantastic assist from Florian Prohart to make it 3-0. In the closing stages, Monschein crowned the afternoon with the 4-0 final score, perfectly set up by the third substitute, Soukouna.
