Domen Prevc, last winter's ski jumping dominator, heads into the upcoming Ski Jumping World Cup season with a handicap.

The 27-year-old Slovenian was issued a yellow card on Sunday. The incident occurred during the Continental Cup weekend in Klingenthal.

Prevc impressed in the first round with a jump of 143.5 meters – a jump that placed him only behind ÖSV Eagle Clemens Aigner. Shortly after, however, came the disappointment: Prevc was disqualified due to an overly long suit in the leg area.

Prevc faces suspension

This disqualification resulted in a yellow card. According to the new FIS rules, this yellow card is valid for twelve months.

If Prevc receives another yellow card within this period, he will be issued a red card – which, in addition to disqualification from the affected competition, would also mean a suspension for the next competition.

Aigner wins again

The victory on Sunday, by the way, once again went to Clemens Aigner. The 33-year-old ÖSV ski jumper continues his strong form and celebrated his sixth victory in the sixth Continental Cup jump of the season.

This also secured him a World Cup ticket >>>

Raffael Zimmermann (3rd) and Lukas Haagen (4th) completed a strong ÖSV result on Sunday. Slovenian Anze Lanisek finished second.

Nika Prevc also starts with yellow card

Interestingly: With Nika Prevc, a second family member from the Prevc household also heads into the upcoming World Cup winter with a yellow card.

The reigning women's overall World Cup winner received her yellow card during her disqualification at the Intercontinental Cup jump in Hinterzarten – she also faces a suspension for another offense.
