News after Johannes Lamparter's training crash!

On Wednesday, the overall World Cup winner in Nordic Combined crashed during training in Courchevel, France. After an examination on Thursday morning in Innsbruck, there is now certainty.

The 24-year-old sustained a medial collateral ligament sprain in his right knee, along with an ankle fracture and a torn syndesmosis ligament in his right ankle.

Recovery Time Still Unclear

The ankle injury will be surgically treated at Sanatorium Kettenbrücke as early as Friday.

What this means for the upcoming season, or how long Lamparter will actually be out, is currently still uncertain.

Last season, the Tyrolean won three Olympic medals, the overall World Cup, and six World Cup victories.
