As the Italian federation announced on Saturday, ski star Sofia Goggia had to cut short her training camp in Ushuaia, Argentina prematurely.
Goggia complained of feeling unwell in Argentina. There is no more detailed information. What exactly is bothering the 33-year-old will now be clarified in Italy.
"In agreement with the FISI medical commission, chaired by Dr. Andrea Panzeri, Goggia has decided to return to Italy to undergo the necessary examinations in the coming days," writes FISI, the Italian ski federation.
Trip to Chile cancelled
Goggia had been in Argentina since August 23; a planned onward journey to La Parva (Chile) will now not happen.
Sofia Goggia is one of the best Italian skiers of all time. She has won 29 World Cup races, four small globes for the Downhill World Cup, and in the past season, also for the first time, the small globe for the Super-G World Cup. She also became Olympic champion in downhill in 2018.
