Marco Schwarz can't yet part with slalom
The Carinthian completes the full program at the training camp in Chile. "Everything from slalom to downhill is being trained."
Marco Schwarz has not yet clearly stated whether he will continue to compete in slalom in the upcoming Ski World Cup season.
At least in the training camp in Chile, slalom still plays a role, as the Carinthian now reveals.
In an interview with Ski Austria, Schwarz reports on his first training days and is full of praise for the conditions in Chile:
"The training is going very well. The conditions are perfect. The first week went according to plan - we laid the groundwork to fine-tune our technique again."
Everything from Slalom to Downhill is Trained
He is "very happy at the moment." Also because the all-rounder has been able to complete the full training program so far: "Everything from slalom to downhill is being trained. The focus is, of course, on giant slalom and Super-G, and a lot on basic technique."
In July, during an ÖSV press event, Schwarz stated that he would make his final decision on whether to drop slalom from his racing program in the autumn.

Recent Slalom Results Not Satisfactory
The now 31-year-old Schwarz has celebrated great successes in slalom throughout his career, winning, among other things, the small crystal globe in 2020/21.
Recently, however, the Carinthian has struggled more and more to achieve top results in slalom. His best World Cup result last season was eighth place in Val d'Isere.
In contrast, last season Schwarz won the giant slalom in Alta Badia and his first speed race, the Super-G in Livigno.
