No good news for the Austrian women's slalom team.

As Katharina Gallhuber announced via social media, she will have to be sidelined for several weeks.

The reason for this is a knee arthroscopy. Gallhuber will therefore miss "the first races" of the World Cup season, as she herself reported.

However, the 29-year-old Lower Austrian remains optimistic about returning to the World Cup slopes later in the season: "My focus remains forward, and I will do everything to be back on the slopes soon."

Slalom Season Starts November 14th

The first World Cup slalom of the new season is scheduled for November 14th in Levi.

It continues in Gurgl (November 21st) and Killington (Nov. 29th). After a good month's break, the fourth slalom of the season will take place on December 22nd in Courchevel. The highlight of the slalom season is, of course, the World Championship slalom in Crans Montana in February.

Gallhuber is still missing a World Championship medal in her collection; however, she won bronze in the slalom and silver in the team event at the 2018 Olympic Games.
