A great honor for Ted Ligety!

The former skier will be inducted into the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 10, 2027, in Ogden (Utah).

Ligety, now 42 years old, is one of the most successful US skiers of all time.

Above all, he shaped the giant slalom like hardly anyone else. His 24 Giant Slalom World Cup victories are the fourth most in history. In addition, between 2008 and 2014, he won the small World Cup crystal globe for the "Giant" five times.

Five World Championship, two Olympic Gold Medals

As if that weren't enough, he also secured three World Championship gold medals (2011, 2013, 2015) as well as Olympic gold (2014) in the giant slalom.

However, the first major success of his career was the sensational Olympic gold in the combined event in 2006.

His achievements at the 2013 Ski World Championships in Schladming remain unforgettable, especially when he won World Championship titles in Super-G and Super Combined in addition to Giant Slalom gold.
