Multiple Fractures! Ski World Champion in Severe Accident

Mathieu Faivre was seriously injured in a bicycle accident.

As the former ski star announced on Instagram on Sunday, the 34-year-old Frenchman sustained "multiple injuries and fractures" a few weeks ago.

The post shows the former technical specialist in a hospital bed. Further images show the demolished bicycle as well as ultrasound images of the broken bones.

Beneath the photos, the three-time World Champion writes: "Close call and nasty accident a few weeks ago (...). Now rehab and patience."

Faivre has since been discharged from the hospital. "I'm glad I could sleep in my own bed again tonight." Faivre had only ended his active career in October 2025.
