Stellar Sallinger in Goal: Hibernian Wins at Rangers

The Glasgow Rangers' poor start to the new Premiership season is complete. On the second matchday, the "Gers" once again failed to secure a win, as Hibernian FC recorded a 2-1 away victory at Ibrox Stadium.

The visitors got off to a perfect start: Josh Campbell put Hibernian ahead from the penalty spot after just twelve minutes.

Afterwards, the hosts created significantly more chances, but Austrian Raphael Sallinger held onto the lead with excellent saves, including against Nicolas Raskin (59th minute), Lawrence Shenkland (62nd minute), and Ryan Naderi (69th minute).

In the final phase, the former WAC and Hartberg goalkeeper eventually had to concede: Miguel Chaiwa unreachably deflected a Djeidi Gassama cross into his own net (85th minute).

While Sallinger once again distinguished himself against Shenkland (88th minute), the visitors found a late winner: Callum Wright's deflected shot in injury time found the net to make it 2-1 for Hibernian (90th+3 minute).

The "Hibs" climb to seventh place in the Premiership with the win, while for Rangers, the poor start is now complete. The "Light Blues" have only managed one point from their first two games.

Motherwell Draws with Fadinger and Moormann

In contrast, Motherwell FC remain undefeated so far: "The Steelmen" drew 0-0 with FC Falkirk. Lukas Fadinger played the full 90 minutes in midfield, while Martin Moormann was substituted in the 64th minute.

Aberdeen, with new signing Alexander Briedl, suffered a 0-2 defeat to FC Dundee the day before.
