Wanted to be the Best in the World: 25-year-old Ski Talent Retires
At the Junior World Championships and in the European Cup, she once showcased her talent - "unfortunately, the motivation is lacking" for more.
The Alpine Ski World Cup will have to do without Moa Boström Müssener in the future.
As the 25-year-old Swede announced, she has decided to hang up her skis.
Boström Müssener was once considered one of the most promising ski talents. At the Junior World Championships in 2021, she won silver in slalom, and followed up with slalom bronze in 2022.
She also impressed in the European Cup: in 2023, she won the slalom standings and finished fourth in the overall standings. However, the step up to the World Cup proved difficult: she only managed to score points twice. Now she is drawing a line under her career.
Motivation Lacked
"I feel like I'm missing that last percent," Boström Müssener is quoted by "skidor.com". Yet, she had big plans for her career:
"I want to be the best in the world, and that requires years of hard work. Unfortunately, I lack that motivation," said the Swede, who now wants to focus on her studies at the Stockholm School of Economics.
