With Former Austrian Skier: Ski Underdogs Form New Team
The multinational team bands together to fulfill their dream of the Alpine Ski World Cup.
For 13 years, the "Global Racing Team" was a refuge for ski outsiders who lacked the necessary federation structures to combine forces for the dream of the Alpine Ski World Cup. However, the Global Racing Team is now history.

However, a new multinational team has now formed. As "skiracing.com" reports, "Spyder Redline Alpine" has been launched.
Seven skiers have joined the team, including Tyrolean Christian Borgnaes. The 30-year-old giant slalom specialist has been competing for Denmark since 2022.
Erik Read Also On Board
Canadian Erik Read (35), who has already won two World Championship medals in the team event in his career (silver 2015, bronze 2023), is also part of the team, as are his compatriots Liam Wallace (27) and Etienne Mazellier (25).
Furthermore, the team consists of Tim Gavett (28/USA), Jimmy Krupka (28/USA), and Christian Oliveira Soevik (24/BRA).
Focus on Technical Disciplines
The team comprises a head coach, two assistant coaches, two ski technicians, and a physiotherapist.
"Our goal is to make it as affordable as possible for those who are willing to give everything for the sport," explains Tim Gavett to "skiracing.com". Each racer must pay a team fee in addition to their normal expenses to finance the staff.
The team, which is based in Oberpfuss in Tyrol, focuses primarily on technical disciplines, not only in the World Cup but also in the European Cup and NorAm Cup.
Although several racers were interested in participating in "Spyder Redline Alpine," they ultimately decided to only accept racers who prioritize a similar race program in the upcoming season.
Steven Nyman Provides Support
The team will also receive financial support. Namesake "Spyder" not only provides race suits and apparel but also finances travel costs.
Former US downhill racer Steven Nyman, who now works for "Spyder," has strongly advocated for the new team: "Everyone loves the underdogs in sports. They are unique and have a fighting spirit. I am proud to take them under our wing."
