Scheib raises eyebrows: "Giant Slalom skis not unpacked"
Julia Scheib has finished her overseas training. However, she did not accumulate any slope kilometers in her specialty discipline there.
The preparation of the ski stars for the upcoming winter season is in full swing.
However, Julia Scheib did not train in her specialty discipline during her training camp in South America, focusing only on speed events.
"Last year, I had a total of two Super-G training days in Ushuaia under my belt; this year, I didn't even unpack my giant slalom skis and only trained Super-G and Downhill," she is quoted by the "Kleine Zeitung".
No World Cup Downhills Planned
Nevertheless, downhill races remain not a focus for Scheib this winter, although she still wants to take part in at least one training session during a speed weekend. She will compete in all Super-G races.
Last season, the Austrian won the Giant Slalom World Cup ahead of Switzerland's Rast and Hector (SWE). Overall, the 28-year-old claimed five victories in this discipline.
Scheib Feels Physically Ready
She currently feels physically and mentally fit. "I used to always need a week until everything felt right. This year, it felt right from the very first day, just like at the final in Norway," she told the media outlet.
Things will get serious for the women as early as October 24th in Sölden with the Giant Slalom.
