Marco Schwarz has put on a few more kilos
The ÖSV skier gained significant muscle mass in the training camp. Chile was definitely worth the trip for the Carinthian.
Marco Schwarz spent four weeks at a training camp in Chile - but since this week, the Carinthian is back home in Austria.
"We made extreme progress, had many good training days and kilometers, I am physically fit," Schwarz said happily in an interview with "Krone" about a successful training camp.
Although he missed a few days at the beginning of the training camp due to angina, the missed days didn't really matter, as the 31-year-old says:
"That wasn't ideal – but I didn't miss that many days. My teammates had a break afterwards, so I was on the slopes then – it worked out well."
Fear of the long skis overcome
In addition to giant slalom, particular emphasis was placed on mileage on the long skis. Last year, he admits now, he felt mentally somewhat overwhelmed in speed training in Chile. He no longer has that feeling.
To further grow into the physique of a speed skier, he also gained muscle mass. Schwarz is now reportedly around four kilos heavier, as "Krone" reports.
The new season for the Carinthian - like for everyone - starts with the giant slalom in Sölden on October 25.
