ÖSV Top Talent Sidelined Again with ACL Tear
She swept three gold medals at the 2024 Youth Olympic Games, but now the injury curse strikes again.
Alpine skier Maja Waroschitz has again suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear and meniscus injuries in her left knee.
According to the ÖSV, the 20-year-old sustained the severe injuries during an unspectacular fall in giant slalom training in Chile.
Waroschitz has already undergone surgery back home, according to the ÖSV.
Second ACL Tear After 2025
The Tyrolean had already torn her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL), and lateral meniscus in a European Cup fall in December 2025.
Waroschitz is considered a great talent; at the Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon/Jeongseon in 2024, she won gold in slalom, combined, and the team event. The technical specialist has already started six times in the World Cup but remained without points.
