The Vorarlberg native provides a temporary lead in the Canucks' overtime win.
A successful start to the NHL season for Marco Rossi!
The Vorarlberg native contributed to the Vancouver Canucks' 6-5 overtime victory over the Edmonton Oilers with a goal, and was on the ice for 15 minutes in the first regular season game.
At the start of the second period, Liam Öhgren played the puck speculatively into the neutral zone, which Rossi perfectly received. He skated alone across the entire ice, deked Oilers goalie Jerry, and made it 2-1.
The Vancouver team subsequently extended their lead, temporarily going up 5-2, before two goals from Podlozin and one from Bouchard forced the Oilers into overtime.
Here, Canucks player Paul Cotter became the match-winner, securing the 6-5 victory with a backhand shot after just under two minutes.
