VSV Finds New Managing Director

Oliver Bergauer is the new Managing Director of VSV.

The long-standing Business Manager of Kleine Zeitung Kärnten will take over the vacant position on October 1, 2026.

Bergauer's central task will be to stabilize the club's organization, develop clear and reliable structures, and create a sustainable economic foundation together with the board, employees, partners, and fans.

In doing so, the close connection between VSV and the region and its partners should also be further strengthened.

VSV: More Than Just an Ice Hockey Club

VSV is more than an ice hockey club, says Bergauer. "It is an important part of the city of Villach, the region, and Kärntner Sports. I bring my experience from business, my network in the region, and my personal experience as a coach and athlete."

"Especially in a challenging situation, I believe we need clear structures, reliability, and an open dialogue with all those who bear responsibility for VSV," said the new Managing Director.

Why Bergauer Was Chosen

Chairman Manfred Herzog: "We deliberately chose a personality who takes responsibility, actively tackles issues, and can represent the club well externally. Now it is time to take the next steps together and give VSV the necessary stability again."

Board member Marc Baumann adds: "For us, when searching for a new Managing Director, it was crucial that in addition to professional competence, there was also an understanding of the special conditions of a traditional club."
