At 3:3, she broke her opponent, subsequently allowing her only one more game and winning the first set 6:4.
Early 2:0 lead, but...
She started the second set directly with a break, confirmed it, and took a 2:0 lead. This time, however, it was the Chinese player who fought back and made it 3:2.
Consequently, Tagger had to fight for her service but managed to make it 3:3. Later, she couldn't hold her serve anymore, fell behind 3:5 under pressure, and lost the second set 3:6.
Tagger closes the gap again
The third set was also contested. At 3:4, Tagger fought her way back and eventually made it 5:4 with her own serve. The Chinese player held her serve, but Tagger immediately pushed for 6:5.
This time, Tagger succeeded in breaking for the set and match.
Tagger can now dream of her second WTA title after her triumph at the WTA 250 in Prague.
