As a Qualifier! Sinja Kraus Reaches Osaka Round of 16
The 24-year-old follows Lilli Tagger into the Round of 16 of the WTA 250 tournament. She benefits from her opponent's retirement, but was already in control at that point.
With Sinja Kraus, the second Austrian also reaches the Round of 16 of the WTA 250 event in Osaka.
Following Lilli Tagger, who was able to prevail against the tournament's fifth seed (read the report>>>), Kraus also wins her opening round match.
The 24-year-old defeats American Caty McNally (WTA-59). McNally had to retire due to injury with the score at 6:4 and 3:1 in favor of Kraus.
Kraus, who had to go through qualifying in Osaka, celebrates her third consecutive victory. In the next round, according to the seeding, the tournament's fourth seed, Talia Gibson from Australia, would await the Austrian.
