Alexander Zverev not only had to admit defeat to Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon final but also caused a brief stir with a fall.

The German fell during a break point in the third set and subsequently clutched his right knee. Nevertheless, he was able to continue the match with minor limitations.

"I had a bit of trouble pushing off properly on my serve," says Zverev. His service speed decreased somewhat as a result.

He adds: "But everything else went well. I moved well from the baseline and played well there."

Another Injury at Wimbledon

After the duel, which Sinner won 6:7(7), 7:6(2), 6:3, 6:4, his knee was nevertheless swollen.

Zverev also injured himself at Wimbledon two years ago. "I fractured the bone then," he explains. However, this time it's not expected to be as bad.

The 29-year-old can give a cautious all-clear: "I extended it too much again. Probably a bit of bone-on-bone impact again. But I don't think I broke anything."
