Austrian Championships: Schwärzler Celebrates Three Wins in One Day
Joel Schwärzler plays three matches in one day at the Austrian National Championships in Oberpullendorf, securing as many victories.
Joel Schwärzler (ATP-177.) has had a busy, yet equally successful tennis Thursday at the Austrian National Championships in Oberpullendorf.
The 20-year-old played no less than three matches on a single day. The Vorarlberg native not only won every single match but didn't even have to concede a set.
After a first-round bye, Schwärzler defeated Nick Ihlenfeld, advancing to the quarterfinals with a 6:0, 6:4 victory, where Alexander Wagner now awaits.
Schwärzler Also Successful Twice in Doubles
Afterwards, the ÖTV number four had to play twice more in doubles: With partner Leo Gutjahr, he first triumphed over Wenzel Graski/Matthias Ujvary with 6:4 and 6:3, and in the evening, the duo also gave Thomas Statzenberger/Dennis Novak no chance, winning 6:2, 6:3.
In the doubles semifinals, Alexander Wagner, who plays with Bastian Berenz, awaits once again.
