Final! Miedler closes in on Kitzbühel doubles title
The Lower Austrian reaches the doubles final of the Generali Open with his Australian partner Marc Polmans.
The final day on Saturday at the Generali Open 2026 in Kitzbühel will feature Austrian participation.
Lucas Miedler and his Australian partner Marc Polmans have reached the final of the doubles competition.
They defeated N. Sriram Balaji/Andre Göransson (IND/SWE) in the semi-final on Friday with a score of 6:4, 6:7(4), 10:7.
Third Kitz Title and Career High?
Miedler thus keeps alive the chance for his third doubles title in Kitzbühel: In 2021 and 2023, he won the tournament together with Alexander Erler.
Additionally, the 30-year-old from Tulln is poised for his best-ever ranking in the doubles world rankings. Thanks to reaching the final, he appears at number 19 in the live rankings - his previous career-high was 20th place.
Their opponents in Saturday's final are the third-seeded Germans Jakob Schnaitter and Mark Wallner, who prevailed in their semi-final 6:2, 2:6, 10:8 against top seeds Pierre-Hugues Herbert/Kevin Krawietz (FRA/GER).
