Neumayer/Schwärzler Fall in Kitzbühel Quarter-finals
The ÖTV duo had to admit defeat against their top-seeded opponents.
For the ÖTV doubles team of Lukas Neumayer and Joel Schwärzler, the journey in Kitzbühel ended in the quarter-finals.
The two Austrians were defeated by the top-seeded duo Pierre-Hugues Herbert/Kevin Krawietz (FRA/GER) after 1:06 hours with a score of 3:6, 4:6.
Herbert/Krawietz secured a break to go up 3:1 in the first set, with the favorites then serving out the set.
The second set began with another break for Herbert/Krawietz. While Neumayer/Schwärzler managed to break back, the ÖTV duo conceded another serve and ultimately lost the second set as well.
The last Austrian hope, Lucas Miedler, is set to compete in the final doubles match of the day with Australian partner Marc Polmans, facing Jean-Julien Rojer/Theodore Winegar (NED/USA) in their quarter-final clash.
