Ofner Exits in First Cincinnati Qualifying Round
Sebastian Ofner has been eliminated from the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in North America. His negative run continues.
Sebastian Ofner loses in the first qualifying round in Cincinnati.
The 30-year-old lost to Argentinian Marco Trungelliti with a score of 4:6, 6:4, 7:6(4). For Ofner, it is his fourth consecutive defeat.
The Styrian had already exited after the first round at tournaments in Bastad, Kitzbühel, and Montreal.
Everything in His Own Hands
In the third set, with the score at 5:3 in Ofner's favor, he served for the match. However, Austria's number one then lost that service game to love. In the tie-break, the Styrian then made too many unforced errors.
Ofner is currently the world number 127. The next tournament is the US Open in New York. Qualification begins on August 24.
