Lukas Neumayer is eliminated in the quarterfinals of Tulln, losing 7:6, 6:4 to Joao Lucas Reis Da Silva (ATP No. 282)!

The first set was a stark contrast to the previous day's round of 16 match. While numerous breaks occurred on both sides against La Serna, there wasn't a single break point against Brazil's Reis da Silva in the first set.

Neumayer Too Passive

The decision came in the tie-break. Neumayer was too passive in it, and Reis Da Silva prevailed 7:4.

In the second set, Neumayer couldn't hold onto a 3:1 lead. His Brazilian opponent, particularly with his backhand, often delivered decisive blows. The world No. 282 turned the set around and converted his second match point for a 6:4 victory.

"Had hoped for a bit more"

Despite the loss, Neumayer saw the positive in an "ORF" interview: "It was certainly a really good tennis match, partly from my side too. I have to say that he (Reis Da Silva) played really well and I found his playing style extremely difficult. Of course, I had hoped for a bit more. Nevertheless, I had three matches. I'm partly satisfied. I can definitely build on this tournament."

With this, Maximilian Neuchrist, in the doubles semifinals, is now the last Austrian remaining at the ATP Challenger in Tulln.
