The Styrian surprisingly loses to a Spaniard in the round of 16. Sandro Kopp fails in Liège. Lukas Neumayer, meanwhile, is in the Trieste quarterfinals.
Sebastian Ofner has been eliminated early from the Challenger tournament in Braunschweig.
The fifth-seeded ÖTV athlete lost in the round of 16 to Spain's Daniel Rincon (ATP No. 261) with scores of 6:3, 5:7, and 3:6. The 30-year-old thus has to bow out early and misses a clash with quarterfinalist Laslo Djere.

The Austrian prevailed against the 28-year-old with scores of 6:4, 5:7, and 6:4. He will now face Germany's Henri Squire. The ÖTV ace is seeded third in the Italian event.
