Sebastian Ofner has been eliminated early from the Challenger tournament in Braunschweig.

The fifth-seeded ÖTV athlete lost in the round of 16 to Spain's Daniel Rincon (ATP No. 261) with scores of 6:3, 5:7, and 3:6. The 30-year-old thus has to bow out early and misses a clash with quarterfinalist Laslo Djere.

In round one, Ofner had comfortably defeated Slovakia's Norbert Gombos in straight sets.

Sandro Kopp also failed to reach the quarterfinals in Liège. The 26-year-old lost with 6:7 (4), 6:7 (5) to 18-year-old Indian Manas Dhamne (ATP-386).

Neumayer advances to Trieste quarterfinals

Lukas Neumayer, meanwhile, secured a three-set victory over Argentina's Guido Justo (ATP No. 238) at the Challenger tournament in Trieste and is now in the quarterfinals.

The Austrian prevailed against the 28-year-old with scores of 6:4, 5:7, and 6:4. He will now face Germany's Henri Squire. The ÖTV ace is seeded third in the Italian event.
