Carlos Alcaraz must continue to wait for his comeback on the tennis court.

The Spaniard has withdrawn from his planned appearance at the Masters tournament in Cincinnati. The world number two was actually on the entry list.

The reason for this remains the hand injury that has been bothering the Spaniard for several months. Since the tournament in Barcelona in April, the seven-time Grand Slam winner has not played an official match.

US Open in Jeopardy?

With his withdrawal in Cincinnati, doubts about his participation in the US Open are also growing. This is because the Cincinnati tournament is considered the most important preparatory tournament for the last Grand Slam of the year.

Alcaraz is the defending champion at the US Open. The tournament in New York starts on August 30.
