Darts: Price Prevents World Championship Final Rematch, Littler in Top Form
The "Iceman" gives World Championship finalist Gian van Veen no chance. Littler is once again in the final after a strong performance.
Two extremely clear victories characterized the semi-final evening at the World Matchplay in Blackpool.
Welsh ex-world champion Gerwyn Price defeated Dutchman Gian van Veen 17-10 in a dominant fashion.
The "Iceman" got off to a dream start, taking a 6-1 lead. However, the Dutchman didn't give up and closed the gap to 5-6.
However, Price decisively extended his lead to 15-9 and reached the final.
Littler Impresses with a Strong Performance
This was followed by an almost unbelievable performance from English superstar Luke Littler. The 19-year-old shone in his 17-5 victory over Dirk van Duijvenbode (NED).
"The Nuke" convinced early on with a dominant display, taking a 7-1 lead.
Naturally, Littler never relinquished this lead. Ultimately, the Englishman advanced to the final with a superb average of 110.88.
Clearly, the two-time world champion is now also the big favourite in Sunday's final. The winner will receive 225,000 pounds.
