Surprise at the World Series of Darts Finals!

At the major tournament, which however has no impact on the world rankings, 37-year-old Englishman Ross Smith wins his second major title.

At the tournament in the Netherlands, "Smudger" defeated "Iceman" Gerwyn Price 11-5. He achieved a strong average of 103.89 points and a double percentage of 45.83 percent. In the semi-finals, the world number 14 had defeated local hero Gian van Veen.

"The Nuke" was surprisingly eliminated in the quarter-finals with an average of 95.85 points, losing clearly 4-10 to Welshman Johnny Clayton.

Already in the preliminary rounds, Littler had clashed with Dutch fans and provocatively complained about boos from the crowd. He announced that he might skip all tournaments in the Netherlands in the future. He is currently applying this approach in Germany, where he has not attended any tournaments for a long time.

The next major darts tournament begins on September 28. The World Grand Prix is up next, the only tournament in the professional circuit where the Double-In-Double-Out format is played.
