The 20-year-old celebrates perhaps the finest victory of her career in Egypt.
Ekaterina Perelygina can celebrate the biggest success of her career to date.
The 20-year-old wins the W35 tournament in Hurghada. In the final, the ÖTV player (WTA-523.) defeated her namesake Ekaterina Tupitsyna (WTA-615.) 6:2, 6:4.
Holding her nerve
In the first set, Perelygina had to surrender her serve twice, but in return, she managed to break her opponent four times, thus securing the set.
The second set was tighter. Although the ÖTV player quickly pulled ahead to 5:1, Tupitsyna managed to close the gap to 4:5. In the end, however, Perelygina held her nerve and converted her second match point for the win.
