Bezzecchi wins in Indonesia! Martin reclaims World Championship lead
The triumphant winner in Indonesia is Marco Bezzecchi. Behind him, Jorge Martin once again snatches first place in the MotoGP World Championship from his compatriot Marc Marquez.
Marco Bezzecchi puts in a brilliant Sunday performance, winning his fifth MotoGP race of the current season in Indonesia.
The 27-year-old Italian (Aprilia Racing) briefly overtakes pole-setter Raul Fernandez (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team) right at the start, but has to relinquish the lead a few corners later.
Subsequently, he stays close behind Fernandez for a long time before making a move and passing him on lap 18. In the end, he confidently takes the top position across the finish line.
Raul Fernandez finishes second, Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) third, thereby also displacing Marc Marquez from the top of the MotoGP World Championship.
Martin two points clear of Marquez again
Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) does not finish higher than sixth place on Sunday. Martin now stands at 355 points, thus having two more than Marquez (353). Bezzecchi cuts his championship deficit and is third in the championship with 309 points.
KTM rider Pedro Acosta finishes fifth in Sunday's race; as Ai Ogura (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team) finishes fourth, the Japanese rider also overtakes Acosta in the championship standings and is now fourth in the championship. Ogura has collected 259 points so far, Acosta 258.
With his fourth place on Sunday, Ogura also secures an Aprilia one-two-three-four finish.
