Honda Racing Corporation signs motorcycle talent

With 20 wins and 30 podium finishes, the Colombian has already made a name for himself in Moto3 and Moto2.

Honda Racing Corporation has announced the signing of David Alonso. The Colombian will compete in MotoGP on a Honda from 2027.

Alonso will receive a multi-year contract, but it is not yet official whether he will ride for the Honda-HRC factory team or the LRC team.

Making an impact right from his debut

Already in his 2023 Moto3 rookie season, the Colombian impressed, finishing the season in third place overall. In the following season, Alonso managed to win this class.

In 2025, the rider will make the leap to Moto2 and managed to win the Hungarian Grand Prix in his first season. In the current championship, Alonso is in fourth place overall.

In total, David Alonso has won 20 races and secured 30 podium finishes in Moto3 and Moto2.

He will ride a Honda for the first time after the season ends at the 2027 Valencia tests.
