Max Verstappen's future in Formula 1 remains unclear.

While his relationship with the current decision-makers at Red Bull Racing is considered tense, he is said to maintain a close relationship with former motorsport advisor Helmut Marko.

As a picture published on social media by "De Telegraaf" journalist Erik van Haren shows, a meeting recently took place between Helmut Marko and Max Verstappen's camp.

Specifically, the snapshot shows the Graz native in exchange with father Jos Verstappen and manager Raymund Vermeulen. The trio was spotted together in Amsterdam.

Will Verstappen stay at Red Bull? - "None of my business."

The meeting further fueled speculation about Max Verstappen's future.

Back in Austria, the 83-year-old commented on the background of the meeting. "My visit was private, in case you wanted to ask," he explained to "GPBlog".

According to the online portal, the wedding of Victoria Verstappen, Max's sister, was likely the reason for his stay in Amsterdam.

When asked about the future of the four-time world champion, Marko said: "No idea. I no longer have a say there. That's also none of my business. You have to ask Laurent Mekies."
