Back in Mexico, several Formula 1 drivers, including newly crowned world champion Kimi Antonelli, battled a virus and were left in doubt for the race. Now, Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll has also been struck down.

The Canadian will have to miss Thursday's media day in Brazil. His team confirmed a viral illness. "Lance will miss media day today as he continues to recover from a viral infection contracted in Mexico," the team posted on social media.

Stroll and Leclerc expected to start on Sunday

However, his participation in Sunday's race (live ticker from 6:00 p.m. >>>) is not thought to be in doubt. The team offered reassurance: "He is feeling better, and we are confident he will return to the paddock on Friday."

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc will also be on the grid for the Grand Prix at Interlagos. Following the birth of his daughter Bianca, however, the Monegasque driver will not travel to Brazil until Friday.
