On Sunday, a new World Champion could be crowned at the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. Kimi Antonelli has the chance to secure his first title in Austin (from 9:00 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>).
What Antonelli needs to become World Champion on Sunday >>>
The starting position for the 20-year-old Italian is excellent: The Mercedes driver starts the race from pole position and is thus likely also the favorite for the race win.
However, he must be wary of the competition, as overtaking is easier at the "Circuit of The Americas" than it was most recently at the street circuit in Singapore.
Should Antonelli win the race, George Russell finish at best fifth, and Lewis Hamilton at best ninth, he will be crowned World Champion. He would then be the first Italian World Champion in the premier class of motorsport since Alberto Ascari in 1953.
