For a long time, it looked like a second consecutive NHL win for the Vancouver Canucks, but it wasn't to be: Against the San Jose Sharks, they suffered a 2-3 defeat after holding a 2-0 lead until the 48th minute.

After goals from O'Connor (14th) and Öhgren (39th), Smith single-handedly leveled the score with goals at 48 and 51 minutes. Shocked by this, the visitors conceded the decisive goal just eleven seconds later through Marchment (51st).

Marco Rossi played 11:15 minutes on the third line but once again failed to register a point. The Canucks have won only one of their last twelve games, making them the worst team in the NHL.

Larkin Really Wants Out

Only marginally better off are the Chicago Blackhawks, who suffered a 1-4 defeat against the Detroit Red Wings. Marco Kasper remains sidelined with an injury.

In his absence, Arvidsson was the big match-winner with three goals; Raymond also scored.

Before the game, there was a stir in Detroit surrounding a boycott by trade-seeking Dylan Larkin, who was subsequently removed from the game roster. A trade now seems very likely.
