ÖEHV Duo Haudum and Thaler Make Their Mark in Defeats

Lukas Haudum recorded two assists in TPS Turku's eighth game of the season in the Finnish Liiga. However, his team suffered a 2-3 defeat against Ilves Tampere.

The Upper Austrian initiated Lukas Wernblom's opening goal with a won faceoff; the Swedish top scorer then beat goalie Christoffer Rifalk through the legs (21st minute).

Subsequently, Ilves Tampere proved to be the stronger team, equalizing through Luke Henman (30th minute). Late in the final period, Austin Strand scored a brace (56th, 59th/SH/EN).

Sixth-Best Scorer in the Liiga

With 16 seconds remaining, Otto Paajanen cut the deficit to 2-3 after a pass from Haudum (60th minute). These are the seventh and eighth assists of the season for the ÖEHV forward, adding to his one goal. With nine points, he is the league's sixth-best scorer.

Haudum logged 16:24 minutes of ice time, registered one shot on goal, and won 58.8 percent of his faceoffs.

In the standings, TPS has dropped to eighth place after a strong start with two consecutive wins. Only two of their last six games have been won.

Thaler Assists for 1-0 Lead

In the German Ice Hockey League, Lucas Thaler also recorded an assist in Red Bull München's 1-4 loss to Löwen Frankfurt.

The Carinthian won the faceoff before Taro Hirose's 1-0 goal, with the former NHL forward then driving to the Frankfurt net and scoring a spectacular backhand (22nd minute).

Thaler thus collected his second assist of the season, now with three points from four games. The 24-year-old had only scored his first DEL goal on Friday.

Frankfurt Prevails

However, the visitors prevailed with goals from Timo Kose (25th minute), Cameron Brace (35th/PP, 59th/EN), and Anthony Romano (59th minute).

Thaler was on the ice for 19:23 minutes, took one shot on goal, and won approximately 68 percent of his faceoffs.

Red Bull München currently sits in sixth place in the DEL standings with six points, after two wins and two losses.
